Trine Villumsen Berling won the Department of Political Science Teaching Excellence Award
On 29 May 2013, the annual Teaching Excellence Awards for the academical year 2012/2013 at the Department of Polictical Science was announced at a reception. The winner for best teaching at the master's programmer was our very own CAST researcher Post.doc. Trine Villumsen Berling for her class on 'Capturing Security Expertise: When Sceince Meets Practical Politics'.
The students gave the following reasons for nominating her: "She has managed to put together a course that excellences in the difficult balancing between a highly academic level and an inclusive learning environment. Throughout the course, Trine managed to challenge us with exciting literature, thorough theoretical discussions, empirical case-studies, and relevant group assignments, which have forced us to think in alternative ways and broadened our horizon. At the same time, Trine managed from the very beginning to create an atmosphere that has given us the desire and courage to participate actively in the classes and has led to several interesting discussions within as well as outside of the limits of the scheduled lectures."
