Ulrik Pram Gad discusses Greenlandic Election
Ulrik Pram Gad discusses the upcoming Greenlandic election in the multidisciplinary academic blog European Politics and Policy (EUROPP), run by the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Here, Ulrik argues that while there is strong support within Greenland to pursue independence from Denmark, the recent political turmoil has undermined plans to use investment in extractive industries such as mining as the basis for an independent economy. As such, the current situation does present an opportunity for the EU to further engage Greenland in more comprehensive bilateral co-operation.
